Blush Novelties has recently debuted their Avant series. Every one of them is gorgeous but it was the Avant D2 in its glorious Purple Rain color that caught my eye when I saw them go up on Shevibe. Even though I sometimes find the market flooded with a range of purple toys, this one had me with its thick stripes. The head of it looking like a stronger ridge than the Helio, however, I had a worry that it would share the same downfall. As I am writing this review, you can see that aesthetic won this battle.

Each dildo in the Avant range is individually handcrafted and made of platinum cured silicone. Not only is the base made for harness compatibility but it has a suction cup as well for different kinds of play. The curved shape of the toy and the shape of the head make it a toy that has a ridge which can be used for extra stimulation.

‘The sky was all purple’

When I took it out of the box the colors popped even more in my hands. This may be the only purple toy I may ever want again. Especially when it seems that purple has become the new go-to color for a lot of toy companies. But Blush took something that has become saturated and made it stand out.

The silicone is a softer satin texture, it holds only a slight bit of drag. It has a nice balance of firmness and squish that had me smiling. This part was exciting because as soon as I put it through the ‘wall test’. I could tell that it was going to at the very least work better than the Helio did for using the suction cup on various surfaces.

Because of my body shape, having a toy that I can use mounted is a tough order to fill. Others I have had in the past either don’t stick for long or they are not firm enough. I also only have so many spaces in my current home to use them. I spent a few hours reading through Phalophiles guide to Suction Cup Dildo Positions as I tried to figure out my options.

Then remembering I had a stool, that I could try. Its shape was perfect for straddling or sitting with my legs forward.  So before I tried it with my toy, I attempted to move how I wanted without it. The way it was shaped allowed me to move in shallow ways but not ride very hard or fast. It was more of a grind but I knew I had to try it.

Once I found where I needed the Avant D2 to sit on the stool, I settled down on it slowly. It didn’t bend or bow under the pressure of me settling down on it. The stool allowing me to not only straddle it but allowing me to set my feet in front of me to bounce just a little more on it.

The ridge when I could move in just the right way it did grind against my g-spot just how I liked. The only thing I found that was a hinder, was my own body. I needed more because of the squish and size of the ridge was just enough to tease. But the speed I prefer was limited to my own stamina in this position. Though when I added one of my wand toys for clitoral stimulation it was perfect.

When my legs could take no more, finished in bed and with the right amount of speed I was finally after all of the build-ups was finally then able to get the stimulation I wanted from the firm ridge.

Overall, I find the Avant D2 to be a wonderful toy for not only g-spot stimulation but a wonderful toy for people who don’t like texture. The silky smooth almost satin finish of the toy keeps the surface slick in any situation. It is also perfect for people who don’t want to use a toy that is realistic but still want that similar shape.
